Things To Do
Here in Cerritos and the surrounding towns, you’ll find all kinds of wonderfully unique and magical experiences. Our towns lay between the sea, desert, and the striking Sierra de Laguna Mountain range, making for abundant fun vacation activities.
The Beach(es)
At The Cove, we are about two beaches. The tranquil beach right outside your door, and the world-famous Cerritos beach. Cerritos Beach does have something for everyone. Shallow, gentle waters where kids can play, small waves close to shore for beginner surfers and boogie boarders, and a legit surf break for those willing to paddle out. What separates Cerritos is a vast, deep beach offering endless strolls on nicely packed sand and shallow waters to wade through, and sand bars to explore. You will always find a gentle mist coming off the pounding surf and families playing in the soft wash, all on a long perfect crescent beach. The beach vendors are manageable, and you can get a snack or a massage without much effort. If you forget your beach chair and umbrella, a friendly local might help you for a modest cost.
Surfing
Whether you bring your board or need lessons, Cerritos Beach and Surf Break accommodates all levels. Cerritos is a great place for both expert and novice surfers. The best season to surf in Cerritos is generally from late fall to early spring, from around October to April. During this time, the Pacific Ocean receives larger swells that create ideal waves for surfing. It's simple to get sucked into the world of surfing with the help of a local surf teacher.
